Welcome

My name is Chris Brown, I have over twenty-five years teaching experience across a wide range of schools both in the independent sector and Local Authority. As Head of Education, I am dedicated to creating small, bespoke school settings that support students holistically and socially. By fostering a safe and secure environment, I aim to push the envelope of success, ensuring that every student can reach their potential. I firmly believe that every young person deserves an education, and too many are currently being failed through circumstances beyond their control. My mission is to break down the barriers they face and empower them to succeed.” To support them and provide them with the tools and strategies to succeed in life, whatever path they chose after their educational journey with us stops. I feel privileged to be able to design, recruit and implement a bespoke educational offer that supports each student’s unique way of learning. Our therapeutic expertise supports their educational trajectory, and we work together with one single focus being the student. The triangle of support is always being reviewed, and we never lose sight of the outcome for the students.

Ethos

Educational Ethos: Healing Through Learning

In our small therapeutic learning environment, we believe that education and healing go hand in hand. Rooted in trauma-informed practices, our ethos reflects a deep commitment to nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—in a safe, respectful, and empowering

1. Safety First – Emotional & Physical

We create an environment where every learner feels physically and emotionally safe. Predictability, consistency, and compassion are the foundations of every interaction.

2. Relationships at the Heart

We know that healing begins with connection. Strong, trusting relationships between staff, students, and families are central to everything we do.

3. Empowerment Through Voice and Choice

We give learners agency and honour their voice. By offering choices and validating their experiences, we foster confidence, autonomy, and a sense of control.

4. Understanding Behaviours as Communication

We look beyond behavior to understand unmet needs. All behavior is a form of communication, and we respond with curiosity, not judgment.

5. Responsive, Not Reactive

Our approach is thoughtful and intentional. We respond to distress with empathy and strategies that support regulation and recovery—not punishment.

6. Strengths-Based and Student-centred

We see each child’s strengths before their struggles. We adapt learning to suit individual needs, helping students reconnect with their ability to learn and grow.

7. Staff Wellness and Support

We care for the carers. Staff are supported with training, reflection, and self-care so they can model calm, attuned relationships.

8. Community and Belonging

Everyone belongs here. Our setting is inclusive, diverse, and respectful—a place where everyone is seen, heard, and valued.
